DVD player add on

Postby mitternacht » Mon Apr 05, 2010 3:23 pm

I'm considering the possibility of installing a DVD player in my car to keep my passengers entertained during the traffic hours.

Do you guys have any suggestions for this?

Thanks. I've been reading up on the subject and I see that overhead screens are the way to go. But wouldn't that be too distracting?

That's not such a good move there, mate. It's gonna be too distracting.

A friend of mine who owns an Expy has this DVD player with 2 screens. They're strategically placed where you can still watch em and not get in trouble. Though it's just gonna be for the viewing pleasure of your passengers.

If you wanna watch, go ask someone else to drive.

Well I wouldn't want to install a DVD player in my car if I am the one driving.

But if you really want to have one then get a driver.

As for the DVD player I suggest that you get a vizualogic. It's a headress pair with built in DVD and 7" monitors. It costs around $1,000 plus.

Thanks for the replies but don't get me wrong. I'm installing the DVD player for my passengers. Not me.

I don't like tiny screens. I find it hard to read the subtitles or see the details in the stuff I watch. I prefer the good ol home theater if I want to watch something.

But I appreciate the suggestions.

Keep em coming people.

Well the 7" screens are just fine since they're near. You could still easily read subtitles.

But since you want an overhead player then you can get the Myron and Davis ADM 185. It's
around 8.5".

Hope that helps. But you can always google if you want something else. hehehe...

I did some research and stuff on my own.

I've seen the ones you mentioned.

But I wanted to know if you guys had something to know. Plus maybe some experiences?

Nothing beats knowing experiences and feedback from actual users still you know. I like reading reviews and feedback from other owners online but I like being able to ask from other owners anyway?

Thanks guys. I'm going to talk it over later on with the rest of my folks. I need to get their approval since they're the ones going to be benefiting from these add ons after all.
