Thermostat housing

Postby powerman » Tue Mar 23, 2010 6:41 am

Argh, I just had to replace my thermostat housing again. I originally replaced it about 20,000 to 30,000 miles ago and now I'm having the same problem. Last time when I replaced it I didn't buy this little piece of plastic they suggested because it was 40 bucks.

Just to be safe this time I purchased all 3 pieces and it came to 110 bucks. This is just after having to replace the altenator! argh, so many problems lately :(

Sorry to hear about that. But at least you managed to solve the problem.

It's annoying when you think all is well then BOOM there's something more to it and now you have to spend more for it!

Had a similar problem. But I listened to the car guy and bought as he had advised.

I trust the guy with my car's life. He's a genius at these things.

When things look too costly, I simply try to remind myself that it's a long term thing and it'll work itself eventually.

If you don't mind me asking, why didn't you buy it in the first place?

I replace all the pieces. It don't matter if I have to spend much.

I hate it when things go wrong with my car especially when I need it most.

So I just go to the mechanic when I got problems and just buy everything that's needed. I save up some money just for my car.
